You Didn’t Know Me

You didn't know me,
Despite what you said,
There was much you didn't know, rattling around inside your head.

We're from the same town,
The same small pool.
You always played around, when I returned I found the same damn fool

You didn't know me

You didn't know me
Like you think you did
But you opened up my eyes, and I saw to my surprise some stupid kid.

You didn't know me
But neither did anyone
I guess we can now agree
I wasn't having any fun
And as I walked the long way home, I really should have known
That I didn't know me
I didn't know me

And I didn't know you
Though you were my friend
Even though you tried, I still brushed you aside, in the end

You didn't know me.
